About Cedar Oil

Used traditionally in Ayurvedic and Tibetan medicines as an incense ingredient to aid in meditation, Himalayan cedar boasts a rare and powerful combination of qualities that are stimulating to the body but calming to the mind. Widely known for its soothing qualities, this woody, delicious oil is a true tree nectar.

Compared with some essential oils, cedarwood has a relatively simple chemical profile, though it has a high percentage of aromatic compounds. When diffused or used in direct palm inhalation, cedar oil is a useful tonic in assisting to calm the anxious tension created by a modern, non-stop lifestyle. Renowned for its grounding properties, especially during stressful transitions, it promotes emotional equilibrium.

Cedar is one of our favorite oils used to sooth the lungs during periods of stress and discomfort, particularly during the challenging winter months. When you or the children are in need of such relief, combine cedar in your diffuser with some eucalyptus, chamomile and lavender.

Cedar has long been used to give the heart courage, to enhance a connection to the spirit and to promote insight and good judgement. Cedar also has an affinity to the hair and skin, helping to remove toxins and acting as a cleanser and stimulant of both.

Cedar Essential Oil Profile:

Our Himalayan cedar is harvested from wild cedar growth in India.
